PRESENTATION

 

The Environmental Engineering course is of fundamental importance for our country, given the long period of war and consequent devastation and lack of control of the entire environment.  In this sense, it is urgent to train technicians specialists who can  know how different ecosystems work (water, soil and air); know the sources of air, water and soil pollution; evaluate the impact caused by the different polluting sources; assess the quality of environments affected by human activity; know the physical, chemical and biological processes involved in the treatment of supply water, waste water and solid waste; supervising the management of water treatment plants for supply and waste water; supervising the management of solid waste treatment units; propose treatment solutions; know and disseminate the Angolan legislation in the area of environment; to know the main problems faced by rural areas in Angola; Knowing the recovery processes of degraded areas; oversee the management and control of natural resources.

As this is a new area of higher education in Angola, we have the support of the Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra (ESAC), both in the elaboration of the study plan and the syllabus of the disciplines.

 

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

• Proposes treatment solutions;

• Knows and disseminates Portuguese and Community legislation in the area of the environment;

• Knows the main problems facing rural areas in Portugal;

• Knows the recovery processes of degraded areas;

• Supervises the management and control of natural resources;
