Okulima Kuvala is a book that portrays the way of life of the communities of farmers and shepherds in the Municipality of Cacula, the ecosystem where they live and work, their livelihoods, their vulnerabilities and the relationships they establish with the surrounding society.

We can find in the Southwest of Angola an extraordinary variety of languages; means of livelihood; elevations of two or more kilometers; areas with very sparse vegetation and dense forests, rocks and varied soils; rivers of water and rivers of sand.

for people from abroad, it is easy to travel around Southwest Angola, they are welcomed everywhere by smiling faces. They take home precious experiences that they can share with friends. For those who live in this region, the land offers much to value and build on, as well as much to be proud of and cared for.

Men, women and children were direct or indirect victims of

violent conflicts in Angola, lost family and friends, left

their villages to seek refuge in safer cities.

All of this has consequences for the population, regardless of the

age, sex or origin. A lot of people were traumatized.​

This book is the result of many years of work dedicated to Mental Health in Angola, in particular to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PPST).

This publication is based on the study of the Master's work carried out by the author, in the dissertation defended in 2010, with the aim, in addition to inventorying and contextualizing the work of architecture by José Frederico Ludovice, to carry out a critical reflection of five of his most emblematic works.
